The age of consent has steadily risen in the past century or so. Even now, there are still those who want to raise it to 20 or 21, I've even heard some asking for 25. The forces behind these demands are the same ones responsible for raising the age of consent to 18 way back when. They're still present and won't quiet down any time soon.
Here are those forces:
1. Jealous Older Women
Women love to date older guys when they're young. Why? Because they are at the peak of their value and have all the power of choice. As soon as age catches up to them, they start bitterly looking at men their own age going for younger girls. Why? Because now they no longer have as much value or choosing power. Men their age picking younger women over them makes them insecure and bitterly jealous. They'll do and say whatever it takes to prevent and shame men into not doing that.
They'll give bullshit excuses such as:
"I'm just looking out for young girls"
No you aren't. You don't give a shit. You're just jealous of them.
"Older men going for younger girls are manipulative and abusive"
They can be, as any relationship can be at any age. You're deliberately assuming the worst for emotional and selfish reasons.
"They just can't get a woman their own age"
Huh? Younger women are more valuable and therefore more competed for. This statement does not make sense.
2. Protective Fathers
This joke says a lot about how most fathers are.
As far as they're concerned, their daughters should stay chaste until the day they get married. Fathers don't like the idea of their daughters sleeping around at all, no matter their age. So of course they will be in favor of any boundaries being put in place to keep men away from them. Letting go of your little princess is no easy feat, but it's something natural that one day all fathers must come to terms with. However, if given the chance, most fathers will try to delay this day as much as they can. This is coming from an emotional place, not a logical one.
3. Envious men and Simps
Dating a 19 year old at 35 isn't something any guy can afford to do. It's something most men would like to do, but only the highest value men of society get that opportunity. Sore losers feel envious towards them and start coping that it's "immoral", that they wouldn't even want those girls anyway because they're "immature" and that they prefer older women (the only women they have a chance with)
JFL Sour grapes 101
Couple that with the fact that bashing age gap relationships gets them points with the roasties they're competing for... and there you have it; the perfect formula for an army of simps shaming all men into thinking that it's "wrong" to go for younger women.
