the afterlife is really scary imo, not because of ceasing to exist but because of the uncertainty.
The most comforting theory is just cessation, if consciousness really is just the body and brain working together to manifest who you are and once you die, you just cease to exist, unaware, floating in nothingness forever
But the heaven or hell theory is very cruel because we as humans always want what religions with this theory seem to say is wrong doing and will end you up in the bad bit.
Meanwhile reincarnation is the most horrifying theory, if it’s classical like you will be reborn as someone or an animal in the future, not so much because of the world keeps getting better and eventually more and more people will be happy with their lives.
The egg theory is the worst one yet, living every human life ever until you’ve lived them all, experiencing every bit of bad and good ever, while being unaware of it, it’s truly gruesome since I believe that the bad of life almost always outweighs the good since you get used to the good and when something bad happens it feels way worse than if something good of the same degree happened
How losing 50 bucks feels a lot worse than earning 50 bucks does.
What do you guys think?
