Why fangs are beneficial for your looks:

The large majority of people have short, stub like canines, which can be considered neither beneficial or harmful to your looks.
However, a minority of people throughout the world have longer, sharper, more defined canines.

Most people consider these sharper canines to be more attractive, which can be credited to the contrast between them and the other anterior teeth, specifically the contrast between them and the incisors.

The difference in shape between prominent canines and incisors are quite drastic, with prominent canines being more triangular and angled in particular, and the incisors being more square and flat/rounded (n).

Because of this, fangs can be considered a striking feature, as they aren't very common, and are what people pay the most attention to.

Prominent canines can also be attractive as they are a dimorphic feature for men. This is due to some facts like:

1. Men typically have a longer window of enamel deposition on the teeth, so more prominent canines can be proof of this
2. Men are thought to be the provider (hunter) and protector of their family, and so having prominent canines can be like showing off your weapons since teeth can be used to ward off competition
3. Men in general typically grow their whole body to be larger than that of a females, and so prominent canines can be correlated to this

However this does not mean prominent canines aren't beneficial for women, because there is another reason why they can be seen as attractive.

The pointiness of prominent canines can be associated with danger, which can be associated with a more youthful/playful 😈 vibe, as young people are typically thought to be more rebellious and troublesome, as they still have the energy to be rebellious and are less inhibited. This can help both genders, as it indicates that a relationship with them, could be more exciting

So how can you get fangs naturally?

If you have already got a set of full permanent dentition and you do not appear to have fangs, it's over for you :feelsrope: You will never achieve natural fangs in your lifetime. It is common knowledge that after the final set of permanent dentition come in (commonly referred to as adult teeth), that your teeth will never grow, replace or maintain themselves.

For your children, unless you and your partner have been genetically disposed to have prominent canines, there is no guaranteed chance that your child will ever grow fangs. The best you can do is to make sure that the mother takes in adequate amounts of: Calcium, Phosphorous, Vitamins A and D during conception, to make sure that no epigenetic switches go off. After birth, you should continue to make sure that your child takes in adequate amounts of Calcium, Phosphorous, Vitamins A and D.

Supposedly, the shape of your crowns can be anywhere from 50-90% genetics :kys: However, the other environmental factors that they speak of aren't helpful whatsoever in forming ideal teeth shapes. Instead, they are mainly to make sure that your teeth stay healthy, rather than change shape (which is what we want)

The purpose of the canines are to allow tearing of tough meats, so theoretically, if you fed your child on a diet consisting of tough meats, then there would likely be a higher chance in them forming sharper and longer canines in order to adapt to their diet. If it doesn't happen, than your child will still get benefits, as a diet of majority meat from a young age will hopefully ensure proper jaw growth.

Of course, you can still get fangs through dental surgery or just props, but props aren't too realistic, and you can easily be caught frauding, and actual veneers cost way too much for such a small benefit.

mirin the effort :what:
