The backrooms movie is shit

Just saw it - don’t know what the fuck the glazers are talking about.
Maybe I’m just not up to date on all the ‘lore’ (couldn’t give a fuck), but when backrooms was popping in 2022 I was genuinely intrigued with it.
The movie however, does not replicate any of that spark that the short had.
It failed to build any tension whatsoever, was predictable, and I found it to be quite shallow.
Yes, it is the kids first movie ever, so props to him, it wasn’t terrible, but I just wasn’t a fan.

I feel the same as you do, shit was buns, a couple of years ago i was watching backrooms and scp foundation lore and it reminded me of half life or portal, they felt alien, out of place, i liked the subplot of the different obscure organizations or factions formed in the Backrooms and the scientific/military approach it had.

terrible plot, cool theme, shit acting, tho i like Mark Duplass, good visuals and sound effects, alright first 25 minutes, awful ending

3.2/10, very forgettable, it should have been a series tbh

Yeah I do cut the kid some slack considering how young the director is but the screenplay was fucking awful - terrible acting, shallow character who u couldn’t care less about (those therapy scenes were horrific - no nigga in charge knows an ounce about psychology JFL).

Good cinematography- that’s where all its points come from (the very few points)
