dnrAs a schizophrenic teenager I can tell you with certainty that being asocial is one of the worst things that happened to me. I do not feel the urge to talk or bond with people and used to see it as an utter waste of time. I have come to realise that altho there is no point in overly socializing with randoms all the time, there is of course a need for social bonds in your life and people you can count on. I would say being alone is really important to learn but you do need to socialize once in a while.
When it comes to the benefits of beeing "alone" ( in the context of having people you can count on but spending about 95% or more of your hours not actively engaging with people) I would say these are the biggest:
- learning to make decisions without input of others
- learning not to care so much ( most of the time you are scared of failing you are scared of letting people down or hurting your image)
- less stress
- more self-reflection
- more of your actions will be based on achieving goals of your own
DO NOT BECOME A LAZY CHUD OR WIERDO BECEAUSE OF LACK OF SOCIAL REALITY CHECKS
