Finland: This has to be on the list because of Linus Torvalds but even without him the tech scene in Finland is insane.Nokia's engineering legacy and a thriving startup scene (Supercell, Rovio) There are some insane geniuses coming out of there. Many top tier hackers have been Finnish
China: A global tech powerhouse not just in manufacturing but also in Al, computer vision, and cybersecurity. Extremely competitive CS courses that at this point suprass the west. Chinese students dominates international programming competitions like ICPC and IOI. Chinese and Indians more or less make the backbone of the silicon valley, Microsoft, Google and AWS.
India: Many people shit on India because many coders from India graduating out of no name colleges are bad due to the IT boom, everyone wanted to be a ITcel which cheapened the quality but the ones that graduate from the named schools are some of best I've seen. It also has massive IT ecosystem, engineering output. IITs, IIITs, and NITs have world class CS programs. India consistently ranks in the top 5 in competitive programming competitions and open-source contributions. Also a dominant force in coding Olympiads and hackathons and ofc the silicon valley scene.
Russia: World renowned for algorithmic and mathematical excellence. Some of the best most intelligent coders I've ever met were Russian. Also have a strong presence in ICPC, IOI, and other global coding Olympiads. Also don't have to mention how russian hackers infiltrate into American systems and make a joke out of the US cybersecurity infrastructure
Japan: May not have as many accolades as the ones I mentioned earlier but deserves to be here. Japanese schools also produce some top tier software engineers. They have deeply technical culture with a love for automation, robotics, and systems programming. Also home to legendary engineers behind Sony, Nintendo, and Toshiba innovations.Japnese coders are also there in Silicon Valley and are known for their discipline, precision, and strong low level programmingSpecial mention
Germany- German schools from what I've seen have a great balance between theoretical computer science and engineering. They teach CS like how it was intended to be taught like an engineering degree and not just speed run through coding parts. Their course material has a strong focus on embedded systems, industrial automation, and Al ethics. Some very good coders come out of Germany also
