Being too paranoid to go with the flow. After studying aspieness for a decade on these forums, I think I get it. Users assume that the general flow of conversation, life, society, etc. will leave them with nothing. They assume being a normie will result in being alone, powerless and cucked, so they refuse to engage with people in normal, prosocial ways.

Instead, they’re either intensely shy and non-participatory or they lash out and feel they need to puff themselves up (“muh iq”) to get what they want. Both of these massively backfire, of course, and this just pushes them further into social isolation and aspieness.

But I think it all begins with this sense that normality won’t work for them. They’re too ugly or too unpopular for that. They need some other way. But every “other way” will inevitably look weird and aspie to most people.

I even heard this recently from my friend that either slay / or is in happy LTR's - he told literally: "JUST GO WITH THE FLOW".
