The Changing
Remembering hurts
but not like a knife
thats digging it’s way
to carve me up
It hurts like a needle
that’s woven inside
my flesh and bones,
bleeding me dry
it’s not that I hate
the way of my life,
it’s just that I hate
the passing of time
is sadness a gift
when mixed with joy
that gives us a reason
to journey forth?
the past is teasing
and ever fleeting
we can’t go backwards
and forward is a choice
