The outfit survives. The signal dies.
An “old money” tutorial can teach everyone the same look. That changes what the look reveals.
You can copy a signal perfectly and arrive after its value has collapsed.
If affluent people and everyone else wear it equally often, it tells you nothing about wealth.
Nobody needs to move the goalposts. Mass adoption moves them.
That is the trap in buying exclusivity from a tutorial: its success can destroy the distinction it sells.
Good fit still flatters. Fitness still helps. Skills still produce.
