It leaves a near permanent mark on your face. Caused me to have zero collagen, zero bone mass. My face is perpetually worried, i can be the most calm adult in the room but people still feel something is wrong because my face just radiates stress.

if you have High cortisol, treat the root cause as soon as possible.
It will take me years of maintaining low cortisol to start seeing some potential increase in collagen and bone mass

That's what happened to him gonna turn 18 in a couple of weeks. But I am mentally fortified now nothing really phases me anymore, it does come at a cost tho which is my fat pads and collagen. Should be easily fixable with a couple of treatments and tret given you have cash in hand.

My elevated cortisol came as a result of my OCD. I was and still am to an extant obsessed with avoiding enviormental toxins, food and water quality, looks, mine and my familys health and cognition and even some dumb mundane shit will cause me insane never ending waves of stress. I tried to become stoic and not worry about things outside of my control, but i was stuck on determening what was and what wasn't part of my control. everything felt within my control, everything felt like my mistake, i was constantly beating myself down and regreting the past. But because i was also afraid of making decisions and acting to fix what i was concerned about ("what if i make the wrong choice?") I got stuck in a vicious cycle of escaping reality and what avoiding my obsession, but still stressing and developing new ones relating to my themes. the more i escaped the worse the stress got.
Ironically i even became obsessed with cortisol itself once i learnt about how harmful it was in excess, which brouggt me more cortisol :lul: so i got stuck in loops of stressing about being stressed which made me even more stressed

Damn im repeating myself, my brain is not in an ideal shape. Basically if you have ocd make treating it your number 1 priority

Ashwagandha ?
Ashwaghanda is great, i was planning on buying it for years but couldnt decide on brand 🤦‍♂️and reaching 100% certianty of it being worth taking (also dumb and due to my ocd, cant handle uncertianty)
Funny thing is most nt people who start taking it are naturally low cortisol and end up crashing cortisol too low (inverted u curve) so thwy complain about being dmotionally numb and apathetic, they just hear muh testosterone boost and buy it without understanding the mechanism in which it works, reducing excess cortisol which competes with testoserone for production.
still everyone has occasional stressful periods so it is worth for them to keep it around for occasional use in such times, but only people with naturally elavetad cortisol levels should take it daily.
It probably makes ocd treatment easier because it reduces the amount of stress involved with the cbt (cognitive behavioral therapy)
Apologies for messy word scramble

How are you treating your ocd?

Thoughts on permanently fixing this? Is ashwagandha really enough?

How are you treating your ocd?
Trying to figure it out myself. Went to a therapist a few times but stopped due to him believing i needed ssris because of how much ocd has spread to every facet of my life and thought pattern (could be true) but i was and still am wary of the side effects (could also be my ocd making me scared of them)
I wanted to CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) alone, while optimizing nutrition, sleep and lifestyle habits without antidepressants, Because if i can do it without them, it would be much better, and looking forward i always believed i could, but the months went by and im still struggling, maybe im too far gone and truly need meds.
It could be that have adhd aswell which causes a super annoying cycle of adhd distracting me and then OCD sneaking into the empty gaps of my distracted mind.

I think i am going to give it 1 more shot just doing CBT on myself and eliminating distractions, coupled with natural supplements such as ashwaghanda Which will aid the cbt.

Sorry for rambling, sometimes im going on negative doom thought spirals. In retrospect i think i acquired a decent amount of knowledge on the mechanisms of ocd and its treatment, ill try to summarize it:

Basically, write down a list of all of all the obsessions (it could be thoughts, goals, fears and even feelings which i have alot of)
Then a list of all the compulsions. For me i have mostly pure O, so i mainly have thought compulsions like researching online, replaying scenarios to potentiate harm, repeating thoughts im scared to forget, gaining certainty about things my actions etc.
Then after you have the lists Go through all of them and face the fears one by one, only way through ocd is through it.
by going over and concentrating on this you over time learn and get better at how to identify the ocd cycle in real time and respond accordingly- not repress and avoid the thought but invite it, living with the uncertainty and not becoming stressed, eventually this process can become automatic like in nt people.

also a good technique to identify the indjvidual ocd patterns is Something called the OCD mountain, which helps pointing down the core fears or theme behind obsessions:

(Really reccomend this channel, i need to go through his videos)
Also andrew huberman has a in depth guide into ocd which i also need to watch fully:

and healthygamergg has good videos on ocd too.

In the context of chronically elavated cortisol due to OCD it really isn't,because it is not treating the root cause.

the root cause is not cortisol itself but what TRIGGERS it to be released, and the way to treat that is through cognitive behavioral therapy.
By taking ashwaghanda and other supps, the lowered cortisol would lesser the negative health impact and potentially help speed up CBT progress due to less stress being invloved- making you able to do more exposures at a shorter time frame.
By the same logic SSRI's are similar to supplemets because the allow for deploying CBT.
so in terms of ocd, supplements could be very helpful but they are not enough by themselves for the vast majority of cases.
Some other supplemments thst could be helpful: magnesium glycinate (and maybe threonate aswell), l-theanine, inositol, NAC, and glycine

All that being said If you are NT and just going through a stressful period, i think ashwaghanda plus stuff like meditation, breathing patterns (like the physiological sigh), and exercise is enough
(Obviously nailing the basics aswell- sleep, nutrtion

Why bother with these retarded copes? Either way it's out of your hands now. You're just fucking ugly and probably have an abysmal, strange looking dome.

This "I look like shit cuz I was stressed in high school" is just autistic.

I mean that cbt Is helpful but It wont stop your compulsions
it does, that the main goal of it, it may not stop the urge to do the compulsion itself but
Gradually you get better at recognizing the compulsion before you do it, identify it as a part of ocd and then resist the urge of following it.
Its obviously very hard at first but the goal is that it will become almost automatic and frictionless at the end.

This video explains how in people without OCD the brain mechanism of repelling compulsions and confirming reality works smoothly but with OCD it becomes "sticky"

Muh muh shit genes 🤦‍♂️
Such a surface level understanding, do you what it shit genetics even means?
I obviously do have "shit" genes technically that caused me to have ocd (also enviorment to blame) and be a stressed high cortisol boneless sack of shit, so why is me identifing the problem and wanting to improve it wrong?!

Yes i am ugly, but i am trying to identify the cause in order to treat it. (Cortisol + malnutrition)
You just state the surface problem without thinking about the underlying root cause, which genetics definietly play a massive rule in, but indirectly through the mechanism i tried to explain.

You mfs think theres specifically an abysmal looking dome gene :lul: 🤦‍♂️

No 🤦‍♂️
It is a spectrum, not a yes or no thing. i am just very very high on it so the deterimental effects are amplified
Only around 1% of the male population has OCD, and unfortunetly i ended up having a more severe OCD than most of that 1%.

There are teenage chads who stay up all night and drink loads of alcohol and they are still chads. Assuming you aren’t malnourished, genetics are to blame.

Try phenibut and drink alcohol and smoke weed. Fuck stress

No bro weed can actually increase cortisol in the long term, and this is the first time ive seen someone recomendding alcohol for a health related issue :lul:
i have absolutely no idea what is phenibut but based on your latter suggestions i would assume it is not ideal.

Still thank you of you were actually sincere.

Bro but dont some stain of weed actually work to DECREASE anxiety in moderation? And yes some alcohols like wine in limited doses give you some good stuff like antioxidants, vitamin c and reservatrol.

Its very confusing, tried to google the realtionship of weed and cortisol but got what appears to be mixed results
From what ive seen THC increases cortisol in a dose dependant manner, but chronic weed smokers actually have blunted cortisol imcreases to stressful situations; maybe its corelation and not causation though. Maybe the study design itself is flawed, it only measures the increases, maybe they are less drastic because their cortisol level is already high 🤔?
What i do know is that THC is not
recomended for ocd.

Wine in limited doses give you some good stuff like antioxidants, vitamin c and reservatrol.
I prefer to just get the same stuff from red grapes/raisins without the unecessary alcohol tho
