Good stuff and lots of blackpills about human nature: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Literature/TheDamned?from=Literature.ACallToArms

The premise of the book series is that humanity is discovered by an alien alliance whom use humanity for war because humanity is the only race insane enough to wage it willingly which makes humans the perfect solders. Humanity is also considered insane in general for having traits that are not considered normal by the rest of the galaxy, such as greed, seeking power etc. I know it sounds cliche but the series actually does a pretty good job how showing how fucked up human nature is in addition to being entertaining (albeit sometimes rather slow paced) in general.

I recommend it to anybody interested in sci-fi novels.
