One gripe (among many) I have about modernity is the complete redundacy of exploration as the world has become more globalised and homogenous. One can no longer set out on a journey to explore distant lands, as our ancestors have.. every square inch has already been chartered and mapped. There are no more secrets left to be uncovered, everything has already been discovered. The world has lost its glimmer of mystery and wonder.. gone are the prairies and wild forests, all that's left is miles of urban sprawl as far as to the eye can see.

What do you mean, it's just starting now, space is the new frontier, think about how many planets and alien worlds are up there!

perhaps I feel sentimental for the old world.. besides, space travel is far from feasible in this day and age.

It depends where you are, there is still some good isolated wild area. But a lot of wild was fucked especially in developed rich countries
