As the tittle suggests, I'd like to dedicate this thread to the discussion of the death of male escapism via close knit communities. This is a topic that not only interests me, but affects me personally. Since the late 20th century (likely much, much earlier than that) men which have struggled in public society have gathered cliques full of like minded individuals such as themselves. In these cliques, the outcast male had, in a sense, a place in society which had rejected him or which he himself had rejected, imagine it as a much, much smaller version of the world, a snowglobe in a sense, an extremely tiny imitation of something bigger, made with the outcast male in mind. Even if these snowglobes were few and small, many men could find their place in them, find community. These communities had ranged from vastly different things, encompassing vastly different subjects such as ,but not limited to: tabletop games, music, imageboards, philosophy, politics, art, video games and so on and so forth. But alas, every good thing eventually comes to an end. With the ever increasing digitalization of the world at large, vast scales of people are able to access these previously niche communities. This is sometimes a positive to the ever mentioned communities, increasing the scale of them and facilitating their growth and enrichment. Unfortunately, this is very rarely, if EVER, the case. Most of the time, the rise in attention from the masses to the previously hidden communities, attracts 2 specific types of individuals: the attention hungry, phallus craving beast which we call the average modern female, and the male simp who convinces the previously male exclusive community to allow outsiders (women) who had never cared and will never care about them, nor the community, which they have worked so hard to create from nothing. More often then not, said creators of these communities slowly give ground to the outsiders until eventually the community is no longer what it once was, the snowglobe is shattered, home is no more.

Most people who engage in such niche communities that get popularised within a few months / even years despite the ideas of it being long standing just pretend.
Females ofc, they join these groups to get orbiters and gatekeeping is made into a sin lmfao.
I haven't engaged with this as much but i've seen enough for it

Unfortunately, in this day and age gatekeeping is essentially impossible. For example if a popular enough figure even mentions one of these communities, the gatekeeping of hundreds if not THOUSANDS will be undone in a mere moment jfl.
