I'm a math masters student rn, tho have done physics research. Are u in uni still?@Alienmaxxer @RichCoopersRoomate what are ur guys' majors? curious as fuck
i'm assuming math tho
so many wanna be smart guys nowadays, if only they knew what real intelligence was aka me…View attachment 5276656
Theres this epidemic of people trying to larp mathematics in order to flex their iq. This dude made a post about how he "derived" the geodesic equation but he did it in the most convoluted and complex way possible. "muh 6 hour derivation"
View attachment 5276667
no joke you literally can derive this exact equation if you know the chain rule and product rule in less than 2 minutes by setting the derivative to 0. Henry taking calculus 1 could unironically derive this equation. Here it is I wrote it for u
View attachment 5276668
of course he chose the most complex way possible and people in the replies not knowing any better thought he was actually smart or something.
Also this dude is acting like he discovered the derivation himself and didnt just ask chatgpt to copy the derivation onto a document to larp iq on tiktok fags
This is a repeated situation with these "math tiktokers" they never actually solve any problems and show their work in order to prove they have any actual knowledge on what they talk about. They only copy results from wikipedia and will intentionally use the most complicated way or arriving at the result in order to appear smart.
@imontheloose @Wicket
yea, i'm a junior phil major in uniI'm a math masters student rn, tho have done physics research. Are u in uni still?
oh no I dont know the guy, I just dont want this fucker to get a single ounce of attention which he so desperately wants120 likes on the video, slideshow as if it's a dump, and hid the name/pfp
it's someone u know personally right?
way better than wanting to be good looking imo, at least these people contribute something to society to some extentso many wanna be smart guys nowadays, if only they knew what real intelligence was aka me…

wishing u the best of luck on ur academicsI'm a math masters student rn, tho have done physics research. Are u in uni still?
i was actually going to study astrophysics, then i realized that i was most likely too retarded to maintain a 4.0 with that majorphysics
is ur avi from usugoiI'm a math masters student rn, tho have done physics research. Are u in uni still?
Analytic u mentioned? Ive read some and know some logic from math logic classes, but im more well-read on continental tbh.yea, i'm a junior phil major in uni
Yeah gambling manga is peakis ur avi from usugoi
YeaNot in highschool this is university level so it depends on what and if you decide to study
true but they’re all talk, they larp high iq and then proceed to rot 24/7 and not involve in any activity that requires their brainway better than wanting to be good looking imo, at least these people contribute something to society to some extent
yea Im in undergrad, I havent rigorously studied differential geometry but I know how to derive the geodesic equation because I learned some tensor calculus and some relativityi was actually going to study astrophysics, then i realized that i was most likely too retarded to maintain a 4.0 with that major
are u still in undergrad?
yeah i absolutely love analytical philosophy, only reason because i love maths and it makes me feel more intellectual - so basically for my ego jflAnalytic u mentioned? Ive read some and know some logic from math logic classes, but im more well-read on continental tbh.
wishing the best of luck to u and ur career <3yea Im in undergrad, I havent rigorously studied differential geometry but I know how to derive the geodesic equation because I learned some tensor calculus and some relativity
analytic philosophy is for nerds who are trying to run away from Hegelyeah i absolutely love analytical philosophy, only reason because i love maths and it makes me feel more intellectual - so basically for my ego jfl
op is a true knowledgeable intellect making fun of pseudsthis whole thread was inspired by op wanting to flex that he just learned what the chain rule is in calc 2
actually I learned the chain rule in calc 1 I'll have you knowthis whole thread was inspired by op wanting to flex that he just learned what the chain rule is in calc 2
idk tbh, Im figuring stuff outwhat are you planning on eventually doing? phd and delay unemployment? jk
Idk I took the retard version of calc 1actually I learned the chain rule in calc 1 I'll have you know
i had a mental breakdown a couple of days ago because i genuinely didn't know what i wanted to do nglidk tbh, Im figuring stuff out
you had a mental break down because you cope with analytic philosophy so you can avoid Hegeli had a mental breakdown a couple of days ago because i genuinely didn't know what i wanted to do ngl
ask newton and leibnizwhat is calculus
U namedropping hegel to sound smart is like OP post namedropping geodesics to sound smartyou had a mental break down because you cope with analytic philosophy so you can avoid Hegel

I'm doing my thesis on machine learning, planning on getting an internship in that space and capitalizing on the AI boom.idk tbh, Im figuring stuff out
Its relevant because analytic philosophy was (in part) inspired out of a rejection of HegelU namedropping hegel to sound smart is like OP post namedropping geodesics to sound smart
so you're nearing the end of your masters program, right?I'm doing my thesis on machine learning, planning on getting an internship in that space and capitalizing on the AI boom.

It's a two year masters, I'll be searching in the fall.so you're nearing the end of your masters program, right?
shouldn't you have an internship already lined up after you graduate, though?
ur not wrong, but how tf do you actually know that? Its relevant because analytic philosophy was (in part) inspired out of a rejection of Hegel

wishing the best of luck to u, but i'm sorta confused. what do u think u want to eventually work as? do u have any clue? or are u just still finding ur wayIt's a two year masters, I'll be searching in the fall.
his language is nearly incomprehensible, this is one of the major problems with continental philosophy which sparked the rise of analytic philosophy. Its hard to know what alot of these fuckers are even saying kekHegel followers in 19th c germany are like the epitome of this post, just a bunch of people that have no idea what this nigga is talking about glazing him to sound smart because he writes in dense illegible gobbledygook. And then they all talk back and forth in the terminology having no idea what the other is saying LARPing. Just complete normies LARPing to sound high iq.
Meanwhile Hegel scholars alive today don't even agree on basic claims about his philosophy.
Like I said, I'll hopefully be working in machine learning, as an engineer or researcher (depending on what I can score).wishing the best of luck to u, but i'm sorta confused. what do u think u want to eventually work as? do u have any clue? or are u just still finding ur way
The only reason I know that is cause I tried to read the phenomenology of spirit once and then gave up cause I couldn't understand itur not wrong, but how tf do you actually know that?
are you just well-versed in most subjects?
mirin
LMAOOOOThe only reason I know that is cause I tried to read the phenomenology of spirit once and then gave up cause I couldn't understand it
and then I went online to see if other people had this problem to cope
It doesn't help that the preface is one of the hardest parts of the whole book. I had to read the preface multiple times to get a sense of what he meant, which was still vague asf.The only reason I know that is cause I tried to read the phenomenology of spirit once and then gave up cause I couldn't understand it

One of the biggest suggestions when it comes to trying to understand Hegel is to read Fichte and Schelling first. No clue how much that helps though since I haven't read them.It doesn't help that the preface is one of the hardest parts of the whole book. I read some Fichte before I tackled it, specifically his Science of Knowledge (I think it was called), though I never finished it because he makes a big leap to get to his thesis antithesis synthesis which left me unconvinced. Schelling I never touched. One of the biggest suggestions when it comes to trying to understand Hegel is to read Fichte and Schelling first. @proxxyy11 may know since hes a philosophy major
