The false hope of the future

We are told when we are younger that we will have a bright future if we work hard and try our best that we could become whatever we want how could I even explain to my younger self that my wish is to be htn^.. things were so much easier when I was younger despite constantly being made fun of for my looks and my skin condition (eczema) and being a very socially awkward kid I was happy I didn’t know the truth about the false hopes my teachers led me to believe I wish my suicide attempt work but I can’t try again it was disgustingly embarrassing laying in the hospital bed with the iv in my arm
