This is a phenomenon called the ‘gaze of the other’strip away all the self-love, "live for yourself" bullshit and realize:
At the core, every single thing you do, every single looksmax and every single choice is engineered purely for one reason: to be envied.
ENVY
View attachment 4124411
One of the most powerful and meaningful sins, even popularily refered to as the "root of all evil"
But is it actually the root of all "evil"? Think about it:
Everything you do is purely for the feeling of being envied (or lusted, but thats another topic) over.
You dont lift for your health
You dont chase money for "muh happiness"
You dont looksmax for personal satisfaction
You dont post on social media for fun
The human machine - us - we dont run on joy, peace or fulfillment, we run on the sight and eyes of others. Status only exists when it's seen, your effort only matters when its acknowledged. What's status and looks worth if no one sees it? Would you looksmax or wageslave if you were the only human on earth?
There is a reason why NEETs that dont go outside don't care about their looks.
Think about celebrities that fell off: Macauley Culkin, MC Hammer, Lindsay Lohan. All of them went into a depressed and completely wrecked state when they lost their popularity - not because of money issues, but because they were no longer having the feeling of being envied that they got used to - they felt irrelevant, like they were.
And thats the real evil in our world:
Irrelevance = death
You don’t fear poverty, you don’t fear loneliness, you fear being irrelevant.
Not being seen, not being envied, not being desired. It's a nightmare - and an unfortunate reality for a lot of people here.
Every grind, every flex, every move is a desperate attempt to avoid fading into nothingness.
This forum itself is built on envy. Envy isn’t the root of “evil” - it’s the root of all meaning.
@SlayerJonas @Daddy's Home @Jason Voorhees @Orka @Vermilioncore thoughts?
Although id agree that the desire to be seen applies more to females than it does to males
Men are more inclined to desire that which they cant have, and pursue it without relent
Although i suppose u could argue this is a form of envy itself
A desire to return to the primal unity of existence by fulfilling sociosexual desires
Envying the fantasy of a greater self
