The idea that good looks can offset our autism is the biggest myth ever.

For those of us autists with good looks (like me), our good looks only make us get judged even more harshly than an ugly autist. It's called the uncanny valley effect.

I've been told I should have an easy time getting foids (despite being an autist) because of my good looks.

Yet really, an autist with good looks has an even harder time getting foids than an ugly autist

Pretty good (in the sense that I'm not obviously autistic like Rain Man)

Yet in a way, being good at masking is a curse.

I can explain. A dude with good looks with a mild enough case of autism he can easily mask isn't perceived as autistic by the general public. We're assumed/expected to be normal. So our "off" body language/facial expression ends up really freaking foids out. They have no idea why we're "off"

I don't say where exactly I live. I live in a big city in a border state.

In all fairness, there is such a thing as having good enough looks your autism becomes irrelevant (autistic men who are a 9 or 10).

I don't meet the 9-10 threshold. I'm bordering on 7. My looks aren't good enough to get away with autism, yet good enough that normalcy is expected of me.

For autistic men, being either average/ugly or super hot is ideal (Super hot autistic men get away with autism on account of their superb looks; average/ugly autistic men get away with autism because being "off" is expected of mediocre/ugly men).

Being autistic and only slightly above-average like me is the worst position to be in.

Looks mean very little.

I have a fat ugly socially awkward high school classmate who's now (at 34) married to a hot wife.

Meanwhile I'm an escortcel.

The fat ugly guy is expected to be strange; that's why he gets a free pass to be strange.

On the other hand, since I'm bordering on 7/10, I'm expected to be normal.

Good looks and normalcy are the ideal combo; don't get me wrong. All I'm saying is if 2 men are socially awkward, 1 is ugly, and 1 is slightly above-average, the ugly dude will do better with foids.
