what is erda and how does it work :
Erdafitinib is a PAN-fgfr inhibitor which literally means that it blocks several members of the fgfr family rather than one specific receptor.
Erda—> fgfr1,fgfr2,fgfr3 and fgfr4
Example of side effects you could get from erda :
FGFR1: Hyperphosphatemia
"BALVERSA (erdafitinib): 76% of patients affected by hyperphosphatemia."
FGFR2: Nail disorders
on BALVERSA (erdafitinib), 70% of patients experienced nail toxicity, 12% of them being severe grade 3-4 cases
FGFR4: Diarrhea
63% of patients have been affected with diarrhea , 3% of them being grade 3-4 ( severe) and resulted in 22% of the patients losing weight over the time period of the treatment
Whereas for the FGFR3-related side effects,
they are mostly related to growth plates separation abnormalities and abnormal bone development which is basically what we're looking for.
and erda basically doesn't inhibit fgfr3 the most (same a infig)
sooooooooo.......
there comes in the selective FGFR3 inhibitors such as vapugratinib and dabogratinib, which cover waaaaay less side effects.
rep this bc it took me an hour to write
