id like to start this off with the disclaimer- i am not OG, i joined org at the start of 2026 and ive engaged in this content since the start of 2025. i am grey by many peoples standards and i am still only partway through ascension, that is if im even having one or just growing up.
so to start with the basics, and the obvious, tiktok itself- the app that threw me into this helhole of self-hatred and overconfidence- has ruined the entire trope around bettering yourself in such ways as looksmaxxing. i almost feel disgusted and cringe even saying the term looksmaxxing; its been so overplayed and used by corporations, 12 year olds, and just used in general with 0 meaning. sure, im captain obvious, but its such an extreme rage im sure everyone shares. the perpetrators primarily include the people who have leveraged the community for their own rise to fame- clav, zeta, and as funny as cookie is- ill throw him in there as well. i have no problem with people who join the community, respect it enough to not ruin everything, and use it to either better or accept their own flaws. the problem arises when people like those three create a huge audience, flooding it entirely with people who dont understand, and claim they've 'ascended' (they grew out their hair and started using facial lotion. they had 0 issues staring at their own face in the mirror. im sure you get the point.) young people absolutely have a place within this umbrella, as they have the greatest oppurtunity to change; theyre just usually the phonk type and dont understand a thing. im just angry. i saw a tiktok with 300k likes- some 14 year old posted his face asking for a rating (id say mmtn- he really wasnt bad) and the replies were full of 'chad', 'hhtn', even some bs i dont understand. i just needed to talk, i havent in a while
