The issue with being 'self aware'

Is that it's a mostly unconscious process (ie you can't actually be self aware about being self aware, ironically enough), which is why larping NT via pure cognition and a neurodivergent intuition/unconscious is an extremely difficult (borderline impossible) task.

All you can do really is ask your peers as to whether you come across as self aware.

This is why the masking aspie can come across as a creepy hollow robot at times - Cognitively they understand how a NT is supposed to appear (body language, eye contact, voice), but the intuition (unconscious) is lacking
