I always buy the popping corn so that I can pop my own corn, and I've always used between 1/4 to 1/3 cup to get my bowl full. Now all of a sudden I need to use 1/2 cup to get a bowl full. How would you degrade corn to such an extent? You'd have to go out of your way to do it. Or maybe a lower quality corn is grown in subhuman areas, and they have started using that.
