What is the KKK?
The KKK, short for Ku-Klux-Klan is a white supremacist group founded in Pulaski, Tennessee on the 24th of December 1865 during Reconstruction times.
This is the famous Blood Drop Cross which is the most known Klan symbol:

The highest role in the Klan is the so called Grand Wizard, this role has been given 7 times.
Nathan Bedford Forrest, the first leader of the KKK:

They started as said in 1865 but got disbanded in 1877. During that time they killed about 3000-5000 members of the black community.
The group got activated again in 1915 till the 1940s. During that time they also spread terror and killed hundreds of black people.
The last confirmed KKK murder is from 21st of march 1981 in Mobile, Alabama.
Michael Donald got kidnapped and lynched by two members of the KKK.
Those two members got convicted and a group of the KKK got financially ruined due to this.
The KKK nowadays
The KKK nowadays consists of over 40 small groups in 30+ states of the USA.
There’s 3000+ estimated members still active.
