Just the fact that you were forced to accept how important looks are probably through negative firsthand experience like bullying or exclusion starting even from childhood for a lot of us, that in itself is already brutal as fuck compared to the ignorant bliss of those who were fortunate enough to escape this horrible realization.
And then adding on top how much money and effort and research there is if you aren't genetically lucky. It's a special kind of hell when you have a bunch of flaws scattered across your face rather than maybe 1 or 2 major flaws in a localized area, because just the sheer amount of surgery you need to undergo while simultaneously dodging botches, undercorrections, overcorrections, health risks, etc feels like an impossible mountain standing between you and actually living the life you know you could be if only you weren't born in this body.
And the fact you have to painstakingly build this foundation (all on your own with zero external support or understanding mind you) that will only last for a few decades at the very maximum. And what then? You'll probably be back in hell. Hopefully enough years of positive social reinforcement could repair the true problem, what's truly broken inside of you that you're trying to fix with the scalpel and the needle. But it's a big if
It's just utterly depressing how all the effort you could possibly muster will probably still never be enough. Look at Timothy Haireth for example. He spent almost 100k on 12 surgeries and now he's fucked. This shit is so dystopian man. What happened to our society. But now it's too late and what other option is there.
