Those types of ornery "love confessions" only work if you've known each other for years. If you went to school together or something like that. It works then, because it makes the one being confessed to feel nostalgic. "Remember that night we watched the stars after band practice?". You take random shit they had forgotten about and re-contextualize it in a romantic and beautiful way. We are all just ideas in each others minds after all. We don't really exist for other people, only their idea of us exists to them.

But really, 4 months is terrible timing to shoot your shot, just in general. By that time, any sort of excitement she might have felt about you had likely already dissipated. You have to keep the ball rolling or people lose interest.

So to summarize, 4 months is too late for it to be new and exciting, too early for it to be nostalgic.
