This is Big Boss' Perfect Clone, ''Solidus Snake'' He has both his Recessive and Dominant Genes, An exact Copy.

This is Big Boss's Superior Clone, ''Liquid Snake'' He has only the Dominant genes of Big Boss and no Recessive ones, He was created to be even greater than Big Boss Himself

Now this is ''Solid Snake'' He was created using Big Boss's Recessive genes, he is essentially a Guinee pig for the other 2 clones and was only created to facilitate the creation of the other 2, Despite this disadvantage, throughout the series he ends up defeating the 2 stronger clones and Big Boss Himself.

He does defeat venom snake (thought at the time to be big boss but later revealed to be a different person) as far as I understood, no one ever beat big boss except for the boss herself. However all of the snakes mog me in just about every way. Intelligence, work ethic, looks.

Yeah I should've counted Venom Snake, although technically he's not a clone.

Solid Snake beats Big Boss (later retconned as Venom Snake) in the Original Metal Gear. And then Defeats the real Big Boss in Metal Gear 2.
The Reason for the Retcon in the original game was because people were left scratching their heads wondering how on earth could someone survive getting hit multiple times by an RPG.

Regardless, The weakest of the Snake family became the strongest.
