Go to the gym and watch people, first through the mirror and then look at them normally.

Do you see a difference? No, they look exactly like in the mirror.

Mere exposure effect is the real problem with mirrors

Exactly. Same goes for pics.

When someone says "omg I look so shit in this pic", I always think to myself huh you look exactly like always

The more time you spend gazing on an image, the more attractive the face in it will seem to your brain.

You aren’t gazing on your selfies too often plus very likely you didn’t even own a phone until you were a teen; unlike your mirror image, which you’ve been looking at for decades, making your brain ignore your flaws subconsciously

Mere exposure effect works on all faces. You probably think your family is better looking than it is because you’ve been seeing them for a very long time. Same with celebritites whose face gets spammed everywhere

Not true tbh, sometimes I sit infront of the mirror for hours analyzing my face getting extremly depressed at every flaw

Flaws really get noticeable when you take an unmirrored portrait of yourself after staring at the mirror ☠️

Your eyes are more acurate that the camera, so I agree that mirror is the most acurate, only flipped out. Untill we make a camera that mimic exactly the human eye, we don't know how ourself look irl

hmm, the first time I looked at myself through a three way mirror (meaning I can see my profile looking straight forward), I though I looked way better then I usually do

probably bdd + having better 3/4 than front
