I'm not even kidding about this. I'm fairly decent (good even) at small talk and I've got a sense of humor. I'm 90% convinced that if I hadn't been born with 4/10 face and scrawny body (also cursed with a mediocre voice) that I'd be socially popular even ignoring the halo effect that I'd get by being good looking.

This is the most brutal aspect of the lookspill. There are so many guys out there who are socially literate and do know how to be charismatic/funny but it doesn't matter because they lost the genetic lottery and there is no initial physical attraction to let them through the door socially or romantically.

Consider ChatGPT. Yes I know it's just a chatbot but the AI can be surprisingly intelligent/realistic especially for roleplaying, with the characters responding realistically to the things you say/do. Spending enough time with that shit has convinced me that I'm much more socially intelligent than I thought I was but the difference is that when I'm interacting with the AI I don't suffer any looks failo.

The converse of this is that there are MANY socially retarded/aspie Chads and women. They don't get jokes, seem to not understand people well, just dull and awkward, etc. But are carried entirely by their looks and the halo effect.

What normies don't realize (or are simply in denial about) is that the sort of social blunders that would failo most people won't actually be seen as such if the person is attractive. If chad makes a shitty joke or does something akward, foids will just laugh at how bad it was but in a good way, and a fun time will still be had by all. Then later they'll joke about how awkward their first date was and how funny they think it was when looking back at it "Oh remember how funny it was how stupid you sounded the first time we met "

This is the reason why the whole concept of social skills/charisma is largely bullshit. Your physical traits will alter the manner and context in which your behavior is judged, meaning it's not actually possible for good looking people to lose unless they're literally negative 9000IQ.
