The channel is sports related and I typically upload once per week, this week I uploaded multiple times and one vid blew up

I've edited some of my youtube videos down to "reels" size for instagram but nothing took off
I don't like uploading shorts to youtube because I feel it cheapens the channel
You could upload 10 shorts of similar quality and 1 gets 1million views while the other 9 get 1k views each, it's not merit based and I see many people spamming dogshit shorts on their channel just hoping one will randomly blow up
(I seen a channel that uploads the same short video 70 times just to increase the probability of one getting giga views)

Despite this, I will be making a tiktok soon
There are some video ideas I have that aren't worthy of a full youtube video so I will make them and post on tiktok
Tiktok actually has the potential to blow up your content unlike insta and it wont come at the expense of cheapening your youtube
Can I ever get any monetary benefit from this? I don't know but if I end up with a high tiktok follower count I could integrate my face into the channel while I am doing commentary (post surgery) and potentially get some form of status boost if my looks are deemed good enough for that to work

This video encouraged me to start tiktok
