What is this higher consciousness you're talking about? I find it hard to believe we are nothing more than flesh and bones, and this includes consciousness... I mean, I am fascinated by spirituality, but after a psychotic episode and many meditative experiences, it tends to be just a matter of triggering the right chemicals in the brain to obtain a variety of interesting experiences.

4d (astral/spirit realm/non duality/non linear time)

5d+ (incomprehensible atm)

its mostly schizo intuition and based on psychedelic trip reports/experiences. scepticism via current understanding of consciousness (reductionist materialism) probably won't give you any satisfying, neat answers given the utter insentience of our current vessels and the state of modern science

this will come across as pedantic, but your life is a subset of life. even if your life 'objectively' sucks its still illogical to project this feeling onto life as a whole (which btw includes your life, hence the illogicality). so yeah, dont hate yourself or your shitty life.

and personally i view life as infinite, and there's nothing more illogical than rejecting (hating) infinity, no matter how dog shit it is
