By "myth" I don't mean they don't exist. The OPPOSITE is correct. Not only do they exist, but their skin colour is NOT due to "convergent evolution" from Europeans. It's due to the SAME SPECIFIC GENES DUE TO SHARED ANCESTRY. "White skin" did NOT originate from Europe.
Actually, one of the few POINTS OF DIFFERENTIATION between (most) Europeans (albeit the quantity varies) and Middle Easterners is that Europeans have Western Hunter Gatherer ancestry and Middle Easterners don't (or if they do, the amount is negligible). They were DARK SKINNED. Only when Anatolian Farmers migrated from Anatolia into Europe did Europeans have their skin gradually lightened.
So "white skin" is MIDDLE EASTERN. If ANYTHING, "white" Middle Easterners are the "true" whites and populations with higher levels of WHG (especially Latvians) are "fake whites".
Also, this study from clearly states:
"The relatively high frequencies of the derived allele in Central Asian, Middle Eastern, and North Africa seem likely to be due to gene flow with European populations. Similarly, the presence of the derived allele (albeit at low frequencies) in some sub-Saharan African populations may be due to recent gene flow from European and Central Asian populations."

It is EAST ASIANS who are convergent not Middle Easterners/Central Asians/North Africans.
Understanding this means that attempts to segregate "white" Europeans and "white" Middle Easterners by using dumb Americanisms that never applied to them doesn't make sense from a genetics stand point. There's too much overlap for obvious reasons. We don't make distinctions between Latvians and "white" Greeks even though the genetic distance between Greeks and Latvians is FAR greater than the distance between Greeks and virtually any West Asian outside of Arabia. It's funny how we ignore major differences between Southern Italians and Finns, but we emphasise far smaller differences between Syrians and Southern Italians. This is ILLOGICAL.
The most illogical thing however is to make great distinctions between TURKS OF ALL PEOPLE and other Europeans. FFS, genetics are CLINAL. Learn what clines are! Turks are gonna be physically diverse and are gonna have genetic affinities to Bulgaria, Greece(especially Crete and the Dodecanese), Iraq, Syria, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Georgia, Armenia and Iran.
