in fact one of the reasons white army lost with all the help it got was because it was very unpopular
most russians surrendered under desperation and shock from the beggining of inavsion
as nationalistic propaganda became more prevalent and started being perpetuated through out soviet union and churches became to open up again they became less likely to surrender and wanted to lay down their lives for the country
