The wage system is implemented so that wageslaves earn just enough to maintain and replicate themselves, the reason skilled wageslaves earn more is for compensation of the invested time to obtain that skill for example, having to spend 3-4 yrs outside the workforce unpaid to study vs being a janitor that someone can learn in a day or less. Slavery still exists it's just more efficient for the slaves to maintain themselves.
