NOSTALGIA (/nɒˈstaldʒ(i)ə/)

A feeling worse than sadness, grief or depression.
You reminisce about the times you were free and happy, when there were no burdens and responsibilities.
A very bittersweet emotion which makes you both rejoice and cry.
Now your life is sad and depressing, the bright light is gone.
Every single day feels the same and has been for a couple of years now.
How delightful it would be to get even just a day back.
You try to constantly abjure your reality because you know from deep within that things are incorrigible.

Everytime you visit that place, get a specific sniff or feel a specific texture, you randomly travel in time back to the days you were at your happiest.
You know the time is gone and you can't get it back, you feel as if it's only going to get worse from here on.
but...

IT DOESN'T HAVE TO

Acknowledging harsh things doesn't mean they have to stay that way.
Live in the moment.
NOTHING MATTERS MORE THAN THIS MOMENT.
WHAT YOU HAVE DONE AND WHAT YOU WILL DO, IS IRRELEVANT.
DREAMING ABOUT HAPPY TIMES IS NO DIFFERENT OR BETTER THAN THINKING ABOUT THE TIMES WHERE YOU WERE DEPRESSED.

For more than 2 months now, i've been living in a small rural town where i was born after staying in the city. I have the most amount of memories here. A few days ago i visited a grass field where me and all of my friends would play all day during the lockdown, we used to talk for hours there. Now after 6 years when i meet them i struggle to find the words to continue a simple conversation. No bad blood, we just grew apart and that feels worse than distance following a dispute. Most of them are gone and moved out to different cities, we always greet each other when we met. But we all know what it used to be.

I used to cry myself to sleep remembering how good my life really was and how much I took it for granted but now i try to be thankful for what i have by comparing my life to someone who has it worse of and its even more painful, I was watching a documentary on the war in iraq and some kids biggests wishes were playing with their brother and eating sugar and i know i have gone off on a tangent but from now i will true try to enjoy every part of my life
