Well to embark our journey on explaining the most unfortunate case of hypogamy, I should make it clear that this unfortunate turn of events happened to none other than myself. Where I live the average height is ~5'9, and being below that is abominable, to say the least. Now picture this; My mother (4'11) is working at a diner give or take 20 years ago. My father (who she hadn't known up until then) She instantly feels a connection to him and asks to be his waitress. He orders food, eats, pays and leaves. He starts to come more often, becoming a regular. However my mother almost always was his waitress, as her shift was the same time my fathers work break was. Eventually my dad catches on and askes "isn't it a little odd that you're almost always my waitress" My mother gets flustered and decides to tell him. My dad then asked her out and they started dating. Now one thing i didn't point out before is that my father is 4'5, so they were a very short couple. They bonded through this connection of shared experiences of being short. Fast forward to me being born. I was constantly made fun of for my short height and it's honestly being horrible. Imagine having to tell people that you're the same height as your own mother! Why couldn't my mom marry a 7ft tall basketball player so I could be 5'11 and happy??
Life is so unfair.
TL;DR
My 4'11 mom married my 4'5 dad and my life is ruined
