The only time I had an online friend

I'm specifying “online friend” when I only mean to say a “friend,” and I also struggle with calling him as such... but he kinda deserves it just for sticking around for that long. 3 years give or take? I don't even remember.

We had nothing in common and he would just sort of feel sorry for me and then I would talk past him about the stuff that didn't even interest me either. I cared so little that nothing else comes to mind besides the superficial stuff that I wouldn't want to share regardless.

I can “read” people but I honestly don't feel like ever accommodating anyone because it just... backfires. That's me. I'm an “asshole,” the “asshole,” maybe, but if we're keeping score then it has to be me that's owed, a lot. I have NOTHING.
