Which is why I dont rly treat them as a real religion but moreso a very admirable culture of morality and aesthetics but weak in being a reasonable explanation to the origins of the world but, i like them mainly for emulating a lot of nietzschean traits and being life affirming in a lot of ways

One interesting aspect of european paganism was its syncretism, romans would see other pagan religions and not think of them as being wrong but as worshipping another aspect of the divine and would even incorporate them into their culture, which is why paganism works best moreso as an ancestral religion based on the forces of nature and the law of the world

Essentially they believed other religions had different gods and they believed that the gods of all the differing pagan peoples were all the same beings and different cultures worshipped them and interpreted them in many differing lenses

i really like the different concepts of philosophy they explore

Tldr his worldview on paganism is that a literal belief in the gods is not rly needed but that the myths, gods and morality are rooted in nature and embody natural law snd forces of nature and that paganism is a way of interpreting these things, its less of a proper religion but moreso a worldview that embodies pagan virtue and that these myths serve nit as some universal religion but as the storiee, myth and morality of a certain ancestral group and is only tied to said that group, realistically this is mostly just nietzscheanism expressed through mythology

yeah i just watched it. but that explanation again streghtens the argment of it not being a proper religion. and then i think if u have a proper religion theres no need for it.
but as a way to explore philosophy i think its great. and tbh thats how i think it was created too (speaking abt the greek stuff). philosophers exploring different ideas through the mythological characters. and later on adding trhe lore like how the world was created due to it becoming popular

Imo I think paganism in general is just moreso a philosophical worldview mythologized via national myths due to a humans need to explain things via things like religion (the gods could of been real people historically that were deified by their peoples but not much proof on this)
