The phrase "slaying = cope" is itself a form of cope

Reframing something you can't have as being of lesser value sounds like cope to me.

Throughout much of history, high-status men would have sex with many women and not settle.
An irresistible man is someone who is able to attract and sleep with many women, and can demonstrate it.

Once you have sex regularly, women tend to be more interested after, and getting into a LTR should be easy.
