The price of female beauty is an everlasting cycle of trying to meet a standard that can only be met by top population of women. Women are constantly being bombarded with beauty standards on social media and in real life. Men and women have unrealistic expectations on how women should look, body wise and appearance. Women will compare themselves to models and actresses’ people who make a living on their looks, when in reality not everyone is beautiful and can fit societies standards of beauty. This leads to women feeling the need to hold themselves to a higher standard than what is actually possible. This can have negative effects on their mental health like BDD and depression. Everyone wants to feel validated and feel self-worth and beautiful people are awarded that. Women are valued off of their looks and not what is inside them like their loving affection, intelligence and creativity.
