The problem is the Massachussets law. In Massachussets, the prosecution has to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the defendant was sane when committing the crime. This is infinitely harder to do than the opposite case where the defense has to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the defendant was insane. I think Massachussets prefers to live in the Stone Ages, thats why this trial has picked up so much steam

Also the defense attorney is a disgusting attention seeker who also unsurprisingly is a darling on Reddit. If he had to prove his client was insane, he wouldnt be so smug and theatrical
