Example: making decisions that make other people, i.e. your parents, happy, rather than those which make you happy
Relationship quality with parents is effectively dictated by how happy the kid is in adult life
You might think making decisions that align with others results in a better relationship but it doesn't; you're just bitter and resentful and shit because you lived your life for someone else's parameters, effectively chasing feedback that isn't even worth it in the end (brutal wakeup call when you realize that the people who got the shit you want weren't even playing by the rules either, or following your humdrum bluepill dogma that's been drilled into your head since puberty, they were just at the right place and the right time and you weren't)
If i had KNOWN what would make me happy and what i had to do to get there, i would have started a long fucking time ago
Unless it's working toward the vision that YOU have for yourself it's working against you and slowly and insidiously instilling mediocrity, and therefore ultimate unhappiness and discontent
Every second matters
