You will be asked questions by the student and you will have to answer them in a careful, adroit way that they will understand. You don't just have the knowledge for this beforehand, you have to think using your existing knowing in the moment to come up with understandable reasoning. This is a very useful and applicable skill. An interview I had to be an instrument engineer was quite intently focused on how I went about tutoring and explaining tough problems to people as the specific role involved a lot of communication with operators.

I already had some old coworker ask me to help tutor he daughter in maths (she was prepping for her finals) because she knew I was pursuing physics/maths in college, but I rejected her at the time.
Felt like a hassle and I didn't feel prepared, but looking back at it, it'd be a good opportunity.

For sure. You can get a fair whack of cash too, mind you. I know folks who tutor using them websites nowadays and they’re awfully competitive; by word of mouth locally appears to work better. Not like it’s your main job anyway.

I ended up getting a sizeable amount of people, but since it’s early into the academic year, folks are all out clubbing in their first year so appears I must wait a few more months till I get requests again. Lol.
