"Darker skin" isn't why Albanians are not considered "white". Greeks have comparable phenotypes and may or may not be classified as "white". But there's little "debate" in white supremacist circles regarding Albanians. Even "inclusive" white supremacists who special plead by including Greeks, Southern Italians and Southern Europeans in general NEVER include Albanians. It's because religion to these morons determines your race. For people who claim "all Europeans are white" you sure as hell don't live by that. Why are Thracian Turks not deemed to be "white"? They're EUROPEAN and have ALWAYS lived in Europe and mainly speak Turkish due to LANGUAGE DOMINATION. And no, don't give me that East Asian/Central Asian nonsense. Don't talk about Saami then. The main differences between Turks and Italians/Greeks lies in Central Asian ancestry (which isn't that divergent to South Europeans). Turks also have more Anatolian/Caucasian ancestry than the latter. So genetically, Turks are somewhere between West Asia, South Europe and Central Asia whereas Greeks (especially Cretans and Dodecanese) and Italians (especially Southern ones) are between South Europe and West Asia (they actually seem a hair to be closer to Southern Caucasians than Levantines)

In terms of appearance, there's little distinction. Turks are somewhat darker than Northern and Central Italians, but not Southern ones.

As for Greeks vs Turks, then Turks are hard to distinguish from Greeks. Even anecdotally, my Turkish store lady looked Greek or Southern Italian (she could have been Kurdish though since a lot of "Turks" in the UK are Kurds)
