Mc is born in a world where the skills / power level you are given at birth determines everything. The mc always has some magical way to better himself even tho no one else can and goes from the weakest most naturally fucked peasant to having god like powers above everyone else.

They are popular because this is what reality is like, we are only worth what we are born with (genetic attractiveness, status, money) and everyone wishes they could change and become better than everyone else.

That’s why even though they are unoriginal and the mcs all look the same, they are so popular.
