People who believe in any God, in my eyes they are all brainwashed larps. They believe things because their mom told them when they were 5. The reason I call them larps is because they tell others that they follow religious rules and they are wise but both of those are bs. Most of the time religious mfs are worse ethically than the atheists and with priests doing horrible crimes like grape, that just shows how religion does NOT help to become a better person. Also don't forget that the burden of proof should be on those who claim that something exists, not on those who claim that it does not exist and since there is no real evidence that God exists the only way is to become an atheist and laugh at the brainwashed people who think they have morals but in reality they are way worse. You can become a better person without religion and my experience has shown that this is true. If you are religious and this thread made you think, then you should do more research about it and see why all I say is true. If you are religious and this post offended you then kys fr you are the one I'm talking about here, you never listen and only insult with your small brain. If you are an atheist you probably agree with me. I will probably receive some hate but if you have good points I can respond.

so once again you decided to be disrespectful instead of actually providing a real argument. You are aware the majority of people who are genuinely religious aren't religious because they were told so or they were reading a book. It's through lived experience

You seem pretty upset for something that doesn't "exist"... but I will answer ig

I believe what I believe rather than any other worldview because, after observing and studying the different positions, I think the most rational perspectives would be Christianity, Christian theology and philosophy, Hegelian philosophy (altough I think it's very very interesting) , and agnosticism in that order. I place Christianity first because I believe it offers the most satisfactory, critical, and coherent arguments. I am not going to write an entire essay on metaphysics, but in my view its worldview is the most rational: it does not present visible internal contradictions that undermine its system; the epistemological framework it proposes seems coherent to me even under critical analysis; and furthermore, I maintain that the internal coherence of Scripture, its message, and the person of Our Lord Jesus Christ adequately correspond to reality.

I mean it depends on what you count as "proof" and if you take metaphysics as a tool to make arguments about "x" things
I'm not going to write a full essay on it but basically it would be something like this. Basically the following scheme would work like
"We have x system → that system helps us to build arguments in favor of y"
  • Metaphysics → God exists
  • Philosophy → God is unique, intelligent, truthful, relational
  • Philosophy of religion and modal logic → revelation is possible
  • Historical signs and internal coherence... etc→ revelation is credible
  • Faith → acceptance of revealed content
  • Dogma → the Trinity as revealed truth
  • Theology → conceptual explanation of the Trinity

(This one would be in the case of Christianity and viceversa), So yeah, God bless!

6 days is a metaphor, the concept of time did not exist during creation. Those days were metaphors of the time god created apart of the earth. 'And in the 7th day, he rested'. Cause he spent his time creating the world, piece by piece.

That's not how things work biblically. That's the same theology. I'm not sure how much you know about Christianity but Paul, the apostle, when he talks about how women shouldn't lead in church, people are like, "Oh he meant during that time." No, that's a retarded take. No. When God means something, he does it and when he means it as a metaphor, he mentions it's a metaphor.

I know I'm getting a little bit theologically diverse now but the same goes with the Eucharist, such as the body and the flesh of Christ

People think Holy Communion is symbolism, same as baptism, when things like this, in my opinion, are quite essential

True. I wouldn't say that it was 6 days however, since there isn't proof it really was 6 days. Many Christian Scholars also agree it was a Metaphor. You can interpret it as Devine Order, God establishes a perfect environment (1-3 days) and then filling it with life (days 4-6), putting up that the creation was purposeful and intentional.

Yes and many Christian scholars also believe things like the Eucharist and baptism are symbolism but again when Christ decides to reinforce or even repeat things multiple times, I think we can kind of get the idea that he's being serious.

Humans have always wanted to know everything, which means they'd fill in blank spots with conspiracies, tales or scientific research

2000 years ago there wasn't enough technology to do proper research into the true start of the universe, people didn't understand the meaning or purpose of life and felt lost, and it only took a couple dozen people to trick the entire population into there being a 'god'

I understand religious people because it's an uncomfortable feeling to not know what you're here for, but sometimes you just need to accept that we aren't advanced enough to come to a proper conclusion

On top of this, the mental masturbation of "if I act good ill go to heaven where I'll be happy forever" is very comforting for the majority of the world which live in miserable conditions and want a way out

Ok I'm bored but let's do this... 1st of all we all believe in the religion we brought up to as kids so we can all agree that the place you were born is the reason you believe. 2nd, there is no evidence that religion makes people better. 3rd, people always wanted to believe in some God bcs they didn't have all the answers. For example the Egyptians, these guys were religious before Christianity was an idea. Also as i said on my thread that you probably didn't read at all , the burden of proof should be on the person who believes that something exists , the reason is simple, since we both don't believe in fairies and we are sure that these doesn't exist and the evidence of fairies existing is the same as God existing try describing to someone who believes in fairies that they don't exist, what would you say exactly to make him sure ? Since we both can't see them he should bring the evidence !
