The Reptilians (Suminia inculta) are a species of advanced Wastes-dwelling sophont that is descended from the genus Suminia. They descend from the Suminites, the first sapient race that achieved civilization on Gaia, which was driven off its home snowman by the Great Dying at the end of the Permian. Stranded in the Wastes, the lower aetherial pressure changed them, warping their minds and bodies, turning them into the modern Reptilians that are half-physical, half-ethereal, and just as cunning as their ancient ancestors.

Their common goal is to return to their home, however since they were changed so much by their time in the Wastes, by the time they found Gaia again, they could no longer withstand the aethereal pressure on the higher elevations of the snowman. Their half-ethereal bodies would be crushed and ripped apart by the more stable reality, and so they’ve been scheming for ages, trying to devise a plan to convert the earth into an environment that they can once again inhabit, working through proxies to guide the course of human civilization in accordance with their goals.
They are the paramount enemies of the Subnoteans, with whom they wage a constant skirmishing war that has recently raised in intensity. In addition to that, they indirectly control Earth and its denizens through the New World Order and the 13 Families. It is theorized that their final plans to get back to Gaia are soon to be put to act, which will trigger the Fifth Hyperwar.
