A lot for the people who side with the white army don't know just how bad the people in Russias were living during the period before the revolution. It was common to see illiteracy, poverty, people die from preventable diseases, corruption within the government (it was a bourgeois dictatorship), wealth inequality, people suffer from not having a basic education, people starved, and the list goes on. Now this isn't to say that the Soviets were perfect by any means, but they raised living standards, they got Russia out of WW1, they united the nation, Stalin industrialized the nation, and Russia was able to send itself a man to space by the 60s. These are achievements that cannot be overstated and a lot of young people of today don't know about these achievements.
