i noticed that more and more people are becoming lookists that judge by appearance in the west rather than other 3rd world countries
whats the reason behind it , is it the rise of social media ? lack of religion ? or some other reason ?
what do you expect will happen in a few years when this superficial mindset spreads to the majority , will society be able to handle it ?

comparison to others and a subsequent state of insecurity is human nature. however, social media has magnified its effect from a tool used by the ordinary to highlight their deficiencies and improve, to a insipid debilitating mental state - narcissism which is stymieing societal productivity, as the new generation - even older generations, obsess over their public appearance instead of self-development and cultivation of family and social groups.
