So far the only noticable change on my face after 1.5 years of mewing are more harmonious lips and slightly better palate.

It is not enough. The temporalis muscle is a much, much better tool than the tongue (or any appliance even) for shaping the zygomatic arch, orbitals, and widening the face.

Do you mean widening by maxilla expansion or just giving width by muscles like masseter and temporalis?
