Similiar occurrences has happend but this one was memorable for me.
I applied for work at a restaurant a few months ago since I had to save up money to move out soon.
When I walked into the restaurant which was not opened yet, I was greeted and got a quick briefing about what to do etc.
After about an hour they opened and I’m not kidding you, 10 curries came in and ordered pizza. I couldn’t be trusted with ingredients and the oven yet so I served them instead.
Everytime you arrived at the table with a pizza you’d need to say some codeword about the pizza and I sperged out because I didn’t want to say ”meaty beast” when I walk up to them. Especially not after they legit order 2 pizzas each.
More and more customers arrived and I was assigned to be a dishwasher, I don’t know if it is a autism thing but I thought it was really overwhelming. As soon as I was finished loading the dishwasher a new mountain arrived. It eventually caught up to me to the point where more dishes came in that what came out.
After about half an hour we were out of forks and knifes and the dishwasher was already running with other stuff while I think the forks were still at the bottom of the sink.
On top of that, dogs we’re allowed in the cramped restaurant on a wet rainy day. I could hear them bark all the time.
After 2 hours the owner had enough and he tried to tell me the nicest way possible he didn’t want me here anymore. I did get layed 50 dollars for that short labour tho.
