As Abraham and Sara went south west to Egypt from Canaan, they were bombarded in the city by pharaohs men. Pharaoh wanted a peice or Sara.
Abraham out of fear for his life lied and said she was his sister and do what you want with her.
As they took Sara away, God appeared before pharaoh and said,
"Your a Dead man. You tried to take a woman who does not belong to you."
Pharaoh on his knees begged, "Lord for I did not know she was taken or married to another!"
God explained how he better ask Abraham to pray on his behalf to spare his life.
Thus Abraham did and pharaoh was spared and Sara returned to Abraham.
